About the Project: The project aims to renovate the Alpine Learning Center in Bavšica and its surroundings, creating a better environment for young hikers. Led by the Youth Commission of the Alpine Association of Slovenia, it focuses on sustainability, youth engagement, and nature preservation. Volunteers will improve facilities, run educational workshops, and promote cultural exchange, teamwork, and environmental awareness.
Type of Work: Volunteers will take part in practical tasks such as painting walls, refurbishing indoor areas and landscaping the outdoor spaces of the learning center. They will also maintain hiking trails to ensure visitor safety. In addition, volunteers will assist in organizing workshops focused on environmental preservation and sustainable practices.
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in shared rooms with basic amenities. Shared bathrooms with showers and toilets are available. Meals are provided on a full-board basis.
Location: The project takes place in Bavšica, a remote Alpine valley in northwestern Slovenia. The learning center is centrally located.
Requirements: Volunteers should be motivated to work on environmental tasks and youth-focused activities. No special skills are required, but physical fitness and an interest in outdoor work will be beneficial. Please note there is no wi-fi at the camp and mobile signal is poor.
