About the Project: This project will be carried out in collaboration with the International Youth Meeting Centre and the Nazi Forced Labour Documentation Centre, located at the site of a nearly fully preserved former forced labour camp in Berlin Schöneweide. The main focus will be preparing a photo exhibition centered around Nazi forced labour and exploring the historical sites of former camps and production areas in Berlin Schöneweide and its vicinity.
Type of Work: Volunteers will search for traces of Nazi forced labour across Berlin and investigate how these sites were shaped by World War II and forced labour. A professional photographer will guide participants in capturing their visual stories, which will be featured in the exhibition at the Nazi Forced Labour Documentation Centre.
Accommodation: Simple housing will be provided in apartments or possibly a hostel in Berlin.
Volunteer Requirements: No prior knowledge is needed. Participants should be interested in National Socialism history and photography. A motivation letter is required

VSI is a small charity and we charge a fee (€55 - €155) to volunteer on our projects, this includes food, accommodation, basic insurance whilst on the project and VSI annual membership. Volunteers pay for their own travel to the country and internal travel to/from the projects and any visa fees.
