About the project:
SCI Catalunya is looking for volunteers to help build an Iberian House in Spain, Catalunya, from April 12th - 21st 2025. Volunteers will come together to construct a replica house from the Iberian period, using experimental archaeology techniques and biodynamic construction methods. This hands-on project will involve mostly manual work, where you'll be supported by experts specializing in these areas.
In addition to the construction work, there will be opportunities to explore and discuss the culture of the Iberian people, as well as broader topics such as peace, feminism, and social inequalities. This year, the project will also feature an artistic installation by Josep Vallribera, a renowned artist and poet. This addition will provide volunteers with a unique space for artistic exploration, learning, and sharing.
Accommodation:
Volunteers will stay in a shared house, in a nearby village.

No special skills are required to attend this project.

VSI is a small charity and we charge a fee (€55 - €155) to volunteer on our projects, this includes food, accommodation, basic insurance whilst on the project and VSI annual membership. Volunteers pay for their own travel to the country and internal travel to/from the projects and any visa fees. More info here.
Please note, some of the descriptions mention an additional fee (of €50.00) when applying through non-SCI organisations, VSI is an SCI branch and this additional fee does not apply.
No fundraising is needed to volunteer on our projects.
