Country: Belgium

Date: 20 July – 02 August 2024

Age: 18 and over

Description: 'Esperanzah!' was born 20 years ago as an alternative music festival, open to the world and based on discovery. Esperanzah! tries to develop a sociocultural approach that is meaningful, committed and sustainable. The Esperanzah! team wishes to demonstrate that it is possible to organize a large-scale event while respecting the environment and without collaborating with large multinationals, instead working with small local producers. It is not simply a question of participating in a festive event but above all of integrating a project that aims to a societal change through music.

Type of Work: The volunteers will help with the assembly and dismantling of the festival structures (tents, barriers, decoration, stages, etc.).  During the festival, volunteers will have the opportunity to attend concerts.

Please note: When you click on the more info and application link below, you will leave the VSI website and go to the SCI database, search engine and application pages of SCI (VSI is the Irish branch of SCI). The projects listed on the database are managed by SCI branches and partners across Europe, the project titles and descriptions are generally written by non-native English speakers, so please excuse us if some of them are hard-to-understand or use unusual language!

Project fees: VSI is a small charity and we charge a fee (€55  - €155) to volunteer on our projects, this includes food, accommodation, insurance whilst on the project and VSI annual membership. More info here.

Please note, some of the descriptions mention an additional fee (of €50.00) when applying through non-SCI organisations. As VSI is an SCI branch there are no additional fees.
