“Friends of Ireland” Vietnam, a members group of SCI partner VPV, are currently running an online project, encouraging Irish volunteers to provide one-to one classes with their members to develop their spoken English skills. This project has proven to be beneficial for all involved as our volunteers have made new international friends and connections while experiencing a new culture and gaining experience in teaching English. Our volunteer, Sangha, has shared her reflections on taking part in this project. Here’s what she had to say!

“It is extremely fulfilling to watch students gain confidence in expressing themselves over time. My students come from disadvantaged backgrounds so it's also rewarding to know that our lessons will help them in a more meaningful way such as by helping them find a better paid job in the future.”
